Edvarda Šmite is an ideal lecturer to talk about the 100th anniversary of the first exhibition of the Rīga Artists Group. ⠀

Do you think it is just a story about the exhibition?! No! This is the story of the triumph and tragedy of Latvian artists of the early 20th century. ⠀

Having gone through the war, seeing life unveiled, the young artists of the very young state of Latvia tore up patterns and risked themselves to create a unique Latvian art style. ⠀ ⠀

Welcome to the lecture, where the main heroes will be the participants of the first exhibition of the Rīga Artists Group Jāzeps Grosvalds, Jēkabs Kazaks, Ģederts Elias, Oto Skulme, Romāns Suta, Niklavs Strunke, Valdemārs Tone, Konrāds Ubāns. ⠀
